Colloidal Silver

Does anyone know anything about using colloidal silver in birds?

I have used it and am using now on a jenday that chewed her chest open. (long
story) Her chest is starting to heal and there is no redness in the margins.
It will kill just about all the bacteria in the water but it needs to be made
correctly. I got my generator from China Prairie and Fred is very
knowledgeable. The silver has to be at the right particle size or it doesn't
work and that is when it causes problems.

If you are on a septic system don't throw a lot of silver water down the sink.
It will clean out the bacteria that makes your system work.  : )

Don't put it in metal bowls or use metal spoons in it. The particles are held
in suspension by pos/neg charges. Keep it away from electric motors.
Colloidal silver should be clear when you look at it, if there is sediment in
the bottom it is no good. Throw it out. I used distilled water that I ozonate
to make mine, I threw out a lot before I got it right. It needs to be kept in
brown or blue bottles.

Would contamination with food and droppings also de-stabilised the silver?

It works by attaching itself to the the bacteria and suffocating it. It is very
stable as long as you follow the precautions I listed above. It would kill the
bacteria in the droppings, as long as the particles out number the bacteria.

I would have thought that colloidal silver (which has to be made with
de-ionised water) would be incompatible with any other supplements in the water as any mineral ions would precipitate it rendering it useless.

I don't add supplements to my water, but as long as they are not "alive" i.e.
lactobacillus, I don't think they would effect it.

I have used the diluted silver as nose drops on a bird with sinus problem and
it cleared up. These are just my experiences, I did a lot of research before I
used it and I recommend that anyone wanting to use it should do the same. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know anything about using colloidal silver in birds?

A homeopathic vet suggested I use colloidal silver on a lovebirds toe
were the nail was cut off and for the other toe that had poor circulation.
in two days you could see an improvement. It healed really fast.
He also said it should only be used for short period of time.
( not more than 21 days ? ) can`t find my notes..... sorry.

I have also used one dropper of CS in orange juice for our YMC
when his sneezing acts up during the night and he isn`t acting just right.
By morning he`s bright, alert and happy.
