If you're going to be away or unable to read your mail for a certain amount of time, edit your membership to "no mail." You can always change it back to individual e-mails or digest.

Click HolisticBird. Click Edit My Membership (top right hand column) Click the No Email radio button. Scroll down the page and click Save Changes.

You can change other options such as your email address, Yahoo profile, and whether or not you wish messages to be in HTML format or text format.

searching list archives

http://groups.

On the left-hand side you can click to read the group messages, post, view the files, links etc.

Click on Messages, and the page will open listing the messages. At the top, there's a rectangle box, with a "Search Archives" to the right of it. If you want to read past messages of a certain subject, just type the word or key words into the rectangle box, and click the Search Archives button. The search will bring up the topics you requested. There is also a smaller box to use if you know the message number that you're looking for.

Click on "Edit My Membership" to change your address, or change how you receive your mail. Be sure to click "Save options" at the bottom.

checking bounce status

http://groups.
Here, you can click on "Email Preferences" and check your bounce history. Also edit your groups.

You might see a couple soft bounces to messages. One reason might be your server was busy or down at the time the message was sent, but could go through with another attempt.

Another reason might be that some people have a limited amount of space in their mailboxes. When that space is full, no more messages can be recieved, and after several attempts and failures, Yahoo considers your account to be hard bouncing. Too many, and you might get a message from Yahoo to re-instate your account. Sometimes it just happens, but if you aren't receiving mail, and see messages on the group site, you can check your status here.

searching the internet
sharing URLs

This will work for Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera. I don't know if it will work for AOL, web-tv or other browsers.

Put your curser into the box that holds the URL address of the web page you are on. Then click or double-click your left mouse button. This should highlight the whole address.

Next, without moving the curser and while it is still in the box, click your right mouse button. A little drop-down menu will appear. Click the word copy on the drop-down menu. This will copy the address to your clipboard.

Now open up your email program. Address and type your message.

Place your curser wherever you want the URL to appear in your message and click your left mouse button. Then you can either right click your mouse button for the drop down menu and click the word paste, or you can left click Edit from the menu options at the top of the screen and then click paste. When you click paste, the URL from the clipboard will be inserted into your message.
